This review is well overdue...I
love shopping here, it's my favorite store in RI, hands-down. If you
shopped at Laura Jean and loved it, don't be dismayed when you see the
new store name, it's still the same! I am a Newport native but
currently a nomad of military life...but whenever I visit home a trip to
this store ranks highest on my shopping list.My last visit I was in
a pinch for a formal dress for a last minute event, and I was
pleasantly surprised that the owner has incorporated cocktail and
formalwear into her product offerings. She's groomed a good handful of
evening wear that was impressive and I ended up with the perfect Black
Halo dress. The owner, Nancy, is always friendly and very
helpful...don't be fooled by the size of the store, she has some secret
storage room that I envision to be like Carrie's closet on Sex in the
City, ha! I love shopping online at ShopBop, Rent the Runway, and
Revolve...I often see high end brands that I haven't ever seen in
person...but Nancy has done an amazing job curating some of these
designers. Oh, and it's still the I best place for your designer denim
too! To all my fellow military wives...when you have a dining-out
event or a ball to attend, shop here first and save yourself a trip to
Boston!

"I visit Newport 1-2 times per year and always stop by Laura Jean. They have everything you could need from casual to fancy, trendy to classic. When visiting us in Newport last week, a friend purchased a beautiful hand-made sweater that she will enjoy for years. My friend is European and very fashionable. She was so happy with her purchase. The guides at Laura Jean are wonderful; no hard-selling but very helpful. There is something for any woman at Laura Jean. This used to be my #3 store in Newport but this year it moved to #1.
