Launched by designer Tim Kaeding and business partner Lela Tillem in 2010, Vogue describes Mother Denim as "your go-to brand for seventies styles with irresistible stroke-worthy appeal."

Kaeding and Tillem actually have backgrounds working with rival denim brands—Kaeding for 7 for All Mankind and Tillem for Citizens of Humanity—but they've come together in a unique partnership that prides itself on "going against the grain," which really shows in their approach to Mother's style:

The brand pushes technological boundaries when it comes to that signature soft denim, and pushes brand boundaries when it comes to, for instance, naming silhouettes (think cheeky: The Dropout Boyfriend, The Groupie).
