Meet Lyndsay

Lyndsay's creativity and positive energy bring something special to Laura Jean and we're so happy to have her with us!

A junior in college, Lyndsay studies English Communications and Film at Salve Regina University. She's also an active member in SRU Dance Club, university's most popular student organization, and choreographed routines during the last academic year.

"I chose to go to Salve because I've been visiting Newport since I was a little kid, and I have great memories of being on the Cliff Walk and exploring the city," says Lyndsay. ""I love the location and the atmosphere is really great."

"I also wanted to go to a smaller school so I could meet people and see a friendly face everyday around campus. The communications department had a lot to offer when I went on my tour and the professors are so sincere and really care about their relationships with their students—that's really important to me."

"It's definitely a great place to be, the mansions and the beaches are just a bonus!"

As if Lyndsay couldn't be more involved, she is a Style Guru at CollegeFashionista, an internship that combines her love of writing and fashion.

When it comes to fashion and style, Lyndsay loves reading Vogue and Harper's Bazaar, but the industry holds a special place in her life since she was very young.

"I basically grew up in fashion, When I was little my mom always put me in the latest trends and I always looked fabulous—I should have been voted best dressed in kindergarten!"

"When I was in middle school, my mom bought her own clothing boutique and that became like a second home to me. When I turned 16, I started working there and really learning the ropes of retail. I fell in love with it and I have been lucky enough to go to the buying shows with my mom and meet designers and help her pick out the next seasons fashions for the store."

"I am always interested in being different and standing out from the crowd when it comes to my fashion; it's my goal to receive compliments from a perfect stranger and to be asked where I got whatever I'm wearing that day."

"Another interesting thing about my fashion is that I don't really have one particular style; some people are strictly preppy, some classic; for me, I change my style aesthetic all the time. I think I'm pretty unpredictable when it comes to clothes, and I hope to always inspire people I know or don't know to come out of their shell and try outfits they wouldn't necessarily feel confident trying."
