The 60th Annual Saint Patrick's Day Parade

The day that we anxiously await all year is back for its 60th annual celebration. We found some great events this year and couldn't wait to share them with you! 

The Annual Saint Patrick's day parade will host it's 60th parade in Newport on Saturday March 12th. The parade will begin promptly at 11:00 AM and start from the Newport City Hall and proceed all the way till Carroll Avenue. The Newport parade is one of the oldest and most beloved Saint Patrick's Day parade attracting thousands of people to Newport! Everyone is preparing for parade day and the excitement that comes along with it.

Try some Irish themed cocktails!

Irish Coffee - Hot, strong coffee infused with Irish whiskey or Irish cream. Top it off with whipped cream. Try this in the morning for enough energy to last you through all of the excitement on Parade day.

Honeydew Martini - 3 ounces of vodka, 1/2 ounce of Midori and 1/2 ounce of Triple Sec. This delicious cocktail has a beautiful emerald green color and is the perfect drink for parade day.

Misty-Mint - This drink will be sure to keep you refreshed with a cool, mint flavor. Mix 1 1/5 ounces of green creme de menthe with 1 ounce of white rum! If you prefer a more pure mint flavor - switch 1 ounce of rum with 1 ounce of vodka.

Irish Flag - This one is fun to drink and awesome to look at. This shot is layered! It has 1/3 shot of green creme de menthe, 1/3 shot Licor 43 and 1/3 shot Irish Cream. If you take this shot layered you will taste these flavors in order - if you dare to mix this shot it is FAR more delicious.

Parade Day:

Christie's, the restaurant we have all come and known to love, is opening a pop-up on Parade day! Nearly all day from 10 AM to 5 PM Christie's will be offering, "Beer and cocktails, Classic Christie's burger, New England clam chowder, and Crispy chicken sandwich." A great little taste of summer before they re-open in May.

To prepare for the parade! The day before:

VUE at One Casino Terrace is holding "The Irish Revival" at 7 PM featuring a five course meal with five craft beers from Revival Brewing Company. This festive event will prepare you for the following day's activities in the perfect way. Reservations are required and cost $55 per person.
